The wiring and the hydraulic portion of the Rube Goldberg Vending Machine
Electronic building list
Step1.First Place Battery in box specified (locations specified by Structural Engineer)
Step2.Place Transformer next to battery
Step3.Fasten Led to light necessary parts to light machine
Step4. Place servo motors on tanks
-The tanks are the holding areas for the sugar, the lemon juice, and the fresh water.
-attach to panel that open and close valve to dispense
Step5.Attach microcontroller to box near leds and servo motors
-micro controller will control when the leds and the servo motors turn on and off
Step6. place the sensors where they
- example of a sensor would be the coin sensor at the start of the machine
Step7.program the microcontroller to operate the lights and the motors
Step8. Place the pump and the juicer in their respected places
Step9. Wire the servo motors, sensors, and the leds to the microcontroller in parallel circuits
-place transformer in circuit with leds
Step10.Wire the microcontroller, juicer, and pump to the battery
-when wiring use solder to connect the wires
Hydraulic building list
Step1. Fasten The five gallon tanks to the top and the bottom of the machine
Step2. Cut hole in side of bottom tank and attach it to the pump
Step3. Attach a pipe to the pump going up to the tank on the to and connect it to the tank on the top
Step4. Cut hole for pipe in bottom of tank and attach it to water wheel tank
Step5. Open water wheel tank and place in water wheel
-to make water wheel cut six one foot by 1/2foot strips out of plastic sheet connect them with groves and glue to a ½foot section of pvc pipe that has a diameter of 1/2ft
-Drill hole in center of tank and wheel to place axle that is fastened to wheel
-attach generator to wheel and hook up generator to incandescent light bulb
Step6. Connect wheel tank to bottom tank with pvc pipe and seal everything
Step7. Cut hole into top tank to input water and then place plastic lid over
-plastic lid is made up of plastic sheet with fastened to tank with staples that can be removed
